About Me

Hi, My name is Jyoti Zutshi and I was born in Srinagar, Kashmir (J&K) in India. Kashmir is a paradise on earth and is known for the beauty of its Lakes, Mountains, and Gardens. My house was situated on the bank of river Jhelum near Rugh Nath Mandir. I miss the site of seeing houseboats, shikaras and devotees visiting the temple which I used to view from my window. I used to love to walk on bridges like Habba Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Kayna Kadal etc. I did not get much chance to visit all the beautiful places in Kashmir, which hurts me a lot. I could visit some of the places like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Verinag, Prang, Dal Lake, Nishat-Bagh and Acchabal. To view these pictures please click here.

I cannot forget my favorite school i.e. National High School. I used to love my school and still remember the day in 1983 when it caught fire and how I wept on seeing that. I received college education from Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar.

Then come the most unfortunate year of my life i.e. 1990 when I had to leave my sweet home, school, college and the beautiful valley Kashmir because of the terrorism. I still remember that  5^th day of March, 1990 when I last saw my home and had to leave early in the morning at 4.00 a.m. never to return again. That was the most tragic part of my life, in fact for all Kashmiris who had to migrate because of terrorism.

I did my engineering from Poona University from Cummins College and stayed in hostel for four years. I can never forget my hostel life, especially the fun we had on our annual functions, returning late and getting scolded by our warden.

Then came the most beautiful day of my life 1^st February 2000 when I got married to Sunny Pandita, the most wonderful person on earth whom I adore.

Now I am married and living with my love sunny in USA.
